Hello, my name is Max Lukegord. I am an artist based in Chicago, originally from New Hampshire. I am a documentary photographer who combines architecture and skateboard culture.

I create images to show off the skateboarding community in Chicago and to capture the hidden beauty of skating. Skateboarding is often looked down on and seen as rebellious, dangerous, and destructive. My photography documents how skateboarding creates a strong, vibrant, supportive community in Chicago. Through photography, I create scenes that express the volatility and grace that is always present in skating. Working with an unpredictable subject like skating allows me to use many different approaches to represent the community and their undeniable skill. 

I also enjoy creating composited images that create otherworldly landscapes. These landscapes appear cohesive in some sections and other sections are distorted. I enjoy creating this work because the images spread beyond a single frame giving much more information to the viewer.
